Shenick Veterinary Group is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to become their new Clinical Director for their practices in Balbriggan and Stamullen. The Role Full time, permanent position in the position of Clinical Director 40 hours/5 days per week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays Salary is up to €83,000 commensurate with experience level No OOH or on-call Responsible for Balbriggan and Stamullen practices Overseeing 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Veterinary Nurses, and 5 support staff including one Veterinarian with a certificate in Dentistry Full funding for any PG certificates / Diplomas / PhD’s you wish to pursue Enhanced annual leave entitlement Career progression opportunities VCI and VDS memberships paid Paid maternity, paternity and adoptive leave Robust benefits included (see below) The Clinical Director plays a key role within the practice. You would lead the practices in Balbriggan and Stamullen in ensuring the best level of care is given to each animal and client. You would be a key contact in both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of running the practices, with the opportunity to develop your interests and put your own personal stamp on them. Other day-to-day duties would see you overseeing the general running of the practices with your focus being clinical work, operating and consulting. You would work with the Area Support Manager and Area Director to develop and lead the clinic’s direction. The compensation for this position is both competitive and flexible based on the candidate's experience. About us Shenick Vets is a group of 3 practices located in Skerries, Balbriggan and Stamullen. Balbriggan hospital is a busy, fast-paced, first-opinion practice with all the mod cons required to ensure a high level of veterinary care is offered to our large client base. There are 2 separate consult rooms, a prep room, surgery, dental suite, separate cat and dog wards, laboratory, isolation room and large staff/meeting room. Applicant Requirements Experienced Veterinary Surgeon registered with the VCI / RCVS Demonstrate excellent communication skills and delegate tasks to a veterinary team Proficiency in surgery, consultations, internal medicine, ECC and diagnostics required Excellent clinical skills with a focus on clinical excellence and best practice policies Be a respectful, professional and courteous individual Confident in running a practice as sole charge Leadership and management knowledge or appreciation for same Ideally some experience in management would be preferred but the role would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and progress in their career. The successful candidate would need to be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate. You would need to work well within a team but also be able to lead it when required.
