Gorey Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to become their new Clinical Director. The Role Full time, permanent position Salary is €70,000-€90,000 commensurate with experience level 1 weeknight and 1 in 6 weekends on-call Full funding for any PG certificates / Diplomas / PhD’s you wish to pursue Enhanced annual leave entitlement including 30 days of Annual Leave, Birthday Leave plus 5 days of CPD leave; totaling 36 days / 7.2 weeks (excluding Bank holidays) Career progression opportunities VCI and VDS memberships paid Paid maternity, paternity and adoptive leave Robust benefits included (see below) The Clinical Director plays a key role within the practice. You would lead the practice in ensuring the best level of care is given to each animal and client. You would be a key contact in both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of running the practice, with the opportunity to develop your interests and put your own personal stamp on it. Other day-to-day duties would see you overseeing the general running of the practice with your focus being clinical work, operating and consulting. You would work with the Area Support Manager and Area Director to develop and lead the clinic’s direction. The compensation for this position is both competitive and flexible based on the candidate's experience. Additionally, there is a relocation allowance of €5,000 (T&C’s apply). Applicant Requirements Experienced Veterinary Surgeon registered with the VCI / RCVS Demonstrate excellent communication skills and delegate tasks to a veterinary team Proficiency in surgery, consultations, internal medicine, ECC and diagnostics required Excellent clinical skills with a focus on clinical excellence and best practice policies Be a respectful, professional and courteous individual Confident in running a practice as sole charge Leadership and management knowledge or appreciation for same Ideally some experience in management would be preferred but the role would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and progress in their career. The successful candidate would need to be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate. You would need to work well within a team but also be able to lead it when required. About us Gorey Veterinary Hospital is a mixed practice located in County Wexford. We have recently restructured our practice so that we can have a focused Small Animal team running the hospital for all our SA clients and a Large animal team dedicated to all our farm clients. Situated in the sunny southeast, famed for its vibrant markets, local community, coastal beaches and heritage history, Gorey is about 45 minutes from Dublin city. It is accessible by major roadways, train and bus. Our purpose-built hospital has two examination rooms, a dedicated operating theatre and a prep room with a separate large animal examination unit adjacent to the main building. We have on-site radiography, dentistry facilities, ultrasound, hematology and biochemistry machines.
