Job Description

FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Clinical Governance Nurse for our client based in Dublin. T Main Responsibilities Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance residents safety and overall outcomes. Provide specialist expertise and advice, demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues relating to care of older people. Ensure safe practice in medication management, promoting effective care and preventing, detecting, communicating and learning from adverse incidents and near misses. Monitor and improve standards through residents feedback, scheme audit, evidence-based practices, teaching and supporting the senior care team and the provision of skills and knowledge development. Complete annual medication supervisions as requested by the Director of Care Services Perform clinical audits in accordance with HIQA requirements. Complete the annual review required to be submitted to HIQA on an annual basis. Nurse Leadership Secure and sustain high-quality, cost-effective services which deliver positive outcomes. Contribute to effective multi-disciplinary and interagency approaches to the delivery of high-quality services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote best practices and ensure consistent quality of care. Clinical Governance Provide nursing service/clinical input to the development and implementation of strategies and systems for the continual improvement of services including clinical governance, risk management, health and safety and resident care and the resident experience. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Assist in the investigation of medical related accidents complaints and grievances within the service. Participate in HIQA inspections and audits, prepare necessary documentation and reports. Team Development Provide customised training courses to the Senior Care Workers team and Care Assistant on HIQA requirements and best practices in clinical care. Develop course content to the required level of certification. Encourage participant engagement and motivation to apply learning outcomes. Review and evaluate training content to ensure quality training and continuous improvement. Maintain and promote positive colleagues relationships within Care Services and with key stakeholders. Management of Professional/Governance Stay informed of changes in HIQA regulations and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance. Deputise and act as Person In Charge in the absence of the Care Manager. Develop and implement systems to monitor the quality of medication practice through audit and measurement of clinical risk, complaints, benchmarking and ensure changes to practice are introduced and monitored where appropriate.
