Job Description
Seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the clinical management of the Orthopaedic Ward, ensuring efficient patient throughput and promoting a nurse-led service.
The Orthopaedic Inpatient Ward is a 21-bedded unit specialising in overnight and day case procedures. The post holder will work collaboratively with the CNM II and inter-professional team to ensure seamless patient care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the CNM II in delivering high-quality patient care using evidence-based approaches.
- Coordinating, assessing, planning, and reviewing patient care with the CNM II and inter-professional team.
- Providing safe and comprehensive nursing care within NMBI guidelines.
- Evaluating and monitoring patient care using quality systems to ensure optimal care delivery.
- Supervising, coordinating, and deploying nursing and support staff to ensure efficient care delivery.
- Contributing to policy and procedure development at area and hospital level.
- Supporting the CNM II and deputising in their absence as required.
Requirements:
- Registration with the General Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by NMBI.
- A minimum of five years' experience as a staff nurse in an Orthopaedic Ward setting.
- At least one year of experience in a management position in an Orthopaedic Ward.
- Desirable to have completed a recognised post-registration course in Orthopaedic Nursing.
