Post 1351 Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Nursing Department Full Time 37.5 hours per week Permanent Cork Centre, Irish Blood Transfusion Service, Saint Finbarrs Hospital, Douglas Road, Cork The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent, Clinical Nurse Manager 3 based in the Nursing Department, National Blood Centre. The CNM 3 will will join the IBTS senior nurse management team and will support the IBTS strategic priorities with regard to achieving operational excellence, improving customer (donor) experience and supporting better healthcare, ensuring compliance with current legislative requirements. In association with the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADoN), the CNM 3 will lead, manage and be clinically and professionally accountable for the planning and delivery of the collection services in Cork, i.e. the Cork Mobile team and the Hybrid (Apheresis and Whole Blood) team. The CNM 3 will also provide local governance and oversight to the nurses working as part of the Therapeutic Apheresis Service (TAS) team. Responsibilities include the management of staff, projects, work practices, equipment, and budgets. Working with the CNM IIs, the Donor Services Team and the Apheresis Team, the CNM 3 will ensure that donation targets and Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) are met to ensure that sufficient blood components are collected in a timely and efficient manner. The CNM 3 will work closely with the Practice Development, Human Resources, Finance, Medical, Laboratory and Quality departments, locally and nationally, as required. The CNM 3 is expected at all times to practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Code of Practice and Scope of Practice and within the IBTS Quality System and Code of Conduct. Essential Criteria: To be registered with NMBI in the General Division and have name maintained on the live register of NMBI Have at least 5 years post registration experience and at least 3 years nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM 2 level Hold a post graduate qualification at not less than level 8 (QQI) in health care or management related area. Proven people management experience, i.e. the ability to deal with complex staff management issues Experience in implementing and analysing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure effective delivery of strategy Proven experience in managing and facilitating change Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is self-motivating and resilient and can demonstrates clinical credibility and strong leadership skills Evidence of recent post registration education / learning and development Proven IT skills and experience including experience working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel Proven research and report writing skills and ability to work within deadlines Desirable Criteria: Project management experience Employee relations experience Evidence of working in a Quality environment (Root Cause Analysis, GMP, etc.) The salary scale attached to the post is the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 scale €68,652 to €77,530 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience. The closing date for receipt of applications is 23.45 hrs (Irish Time) on 3rd November 2024.
