**Clinical Nurse Manager I: Emergency Department**
**Job Summary:** Experienced Registered General Nurse required to lead the education and development of nursing staff in an acute hospital setting, with a focus on emergency nursing.
The post holder will be responsible for the education and development of nursing staff, by means of in-service training and orientation of new staff, and by arranging the clinical experience and supervision of the nursing team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Provide orientation and supervision for new nursing staff, ensuring they are aware of policies and procedures.
• Identify training needs of the nursing and Health Care Assistant team, providing guidance and support where necessary.
• Encourage evidence-based practice using a care planning approach to nursing care.
• Monitor and evaluate the care given.
• Collaborate with medical, paramedical, and others to devise a plan of care.
• Ensure high standards of care are delivered and maintained for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Proactively manage quality and safety standards at local level.
• Deputise for the CNM II as required.
**Requirements:**
• Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register.
• 3 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital or relevant clinical area within the last 5 years.
• Demonstrate management/in-charge experience within the last year.
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing.
• Demonstrate IT skills, including excellent keyboard skills.
• Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing and Health Care Assistant team.
• Desired: Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems.
