The Clinical Nurse Manager duties include:

  • Providing support to the Person In Charge / Unit manager in the clinical and professional leadership of the care team and to deliver direct resident care.
  • Ensuring that the provision of a high standard of care to the resident and families in Bridhaven Nursing Home is consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the Nursing Home.
  • Ensuring recognition of the resident as an individual; ensuring residents' rights, needs and comfort are given priority during the provision of care.
  • Developing relationships with residents, which facilitates resident autonomy, informed choice and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Promoting and maintaining resident safety and providing quality care through respecting the privacy, dignity, and rights of the resident.
  • Maximising the residents' capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice.
  • Assisting residents to maintain their sense of identity and include them in decision making whenever possible.
  • Ensuring the home is operated in a manner that respects the age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs and ethnic and cultural background of each resident.
  • Planning, assessing and delivering resident care that maximises the resident's capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice, together with all members of the multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Gerontology
  • Management qualifications
  • Gerontology experience
  • Experience in Psycho Geriatric Nursing Care/Psychiatry/Adult Disabled.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the ageing process.
  • IT Skills

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience with experience of working at a Senior Staff Nurse / CNM level
