Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing | Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, Co Galway | Full Time | €56,160- €62,400 per annum  Our client is a premier care facility committed to providing top-quality care and a safe environment for its residents. They are on the lookout for a dynamic CNM/ADON to lead their nursing team and uphold their commitment to excellence. The CNM/ADON will be responsible for providing clinical leadership in partnership with the DON. Managing the day-to-day clinical practices in the home, appropriate staff rostering, delegation and supervision, performance and development, clinical governance, and assessment of risks. You will work collaboratively with the DON as part of the Senior Management Team, providing clear communication and direction and deputising for the DON as required. Please note- depending on the experience and suitability of the candidate, the client is looking to fill the role for either a Clinical Nurse Manager or an Assistant Director of Nursing to join their team. Registered on the appropriate part of the Irish (NMBI) nursing register Evidence of continuous professional development Previous management experience at a senior and formal level Post Graduate qualification in management Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills Diligent, honest, and fully committed to the role Ability to collaborate effectively within a senior management team Sound decision-making ability Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative Ability to work well and promote a team environment Appreciation of financial issues What will your role look like? Ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of nursing and social care which meet the individual needs of each resident Ensuring policies and expected clinical standards are read, understood and practiced at all times Conducting daily rounds (including those with a GP) Review nursing documentation to ensure this reflects the care and treatment required by each individual resident and that assessments and care plans are completed appropriately Reviewing at-risk and clinically unwell residents to provide advice, support, and assistance, ensuring appropriate management plans Participate in handover and help troubleshoot any ongoing clinical issues and non-clinical issues, escalating to the DON as appropriate Ensure medication management follows NMBI guidelines, coordinating with GPs and pharmacies for medication reviews and audits Ensuring that all nursing staff are deemed competent in all aspects of medication management and that their practices are safe Ensure all newly appointed nursing staff receive comprehensive education on medication practices during induction, covering prescribing, administration, documentation, and electronic prescriptions Staff Supervision and Education Supporting the DON and Nurses, providing direction, mentorship and regular communication Ensuring a strong focus is placed on working alongside the Nurses and Carers, maintaining a highly visible presence in clinical areas Monitor practice in relation to care practices and give constructive feedback Establish a TEAM dynamic and ensure that teams work cohesively in planning, implementing and reviewing improvements in care and practice Training, education, development, and induction of nursing and care staff are fundamental to the role Auditing Regularly review resident's documentation to ensure that timely and appropriate assessments, care planning, and implementation of care are documented and reviewed In addition to monitoring practice, the CNM also monitors standards of cleanliness and hygiene and fosters an effective working relationship and good communication between nurses, carers, housekeeping, and catering Responsible for conducting environmental and hand hygiene audits and ensuring that action plans are developed, implemented, and sustained Responsible for carrying out medication audits, risk assessments, and drawing up risk management plans in conjunction with the DON Responsible for auditing EpicCare and for addressing any issues with documentation, in association with CNMs and staff nurses Relatives and Residents Interacting with and supporting residents and families on a daily basis Ensuring that complaints are swiftly dealt with at the point of contact and are notified to the DON Assisting and liaising with the Multidisciplinary team, residents and families What can you expect in return?
