Role Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatrics Enuresis & Constipation Role Location: Carrickmines A part-time, fixed term vacancy has arisen for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatrics Enuresis & Constipation. Vhi Health & Wellbeing Paediatric Clinic are looking to secure a CNS in paediatric enuresis and constipation, with the experience and training required to enable Vhi H&W to deliver high quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the delivery of effective, high quality, team based, integrated care for children and their families, as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Benefits: Excellent company Pension Health Insurance Death in service Income Protection Role Purpose Provide a specialist nurse service to children attending the Vhi Paediatric Service with issues in enuresis and constipation Assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate treatment / intervention programmes for children attending the service using best evidence practice in paediatric health care. Undertake comprehensive assessments to include physical, psychological, social and spiritual elements of care using best evidence based practice. Use the outcomes of patient assessment to develop and implement plans of care/case management in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and the patient. Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to the patient. Monitor and evaluate the patients response to treatment and amend the plan of care accordingly in conjunction with the MDT and patient, family and/or carer as appropriate. Co-ordinate investigations, treatment therapies and patient follow-up. Make alterations in the management of patients condition in collaboration with the MDT the patient, family and/or carer in line with agreed pathways and policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines (PPPGs). Accept appropriate referrals from MDT colleagues Document all assessments, diagnoses, treatment / intervention plans, clinical notes, relevant contacts and summaries in accordance with department and professional standards. Participate in medication reconciliation taking cognisance of poly-pharmacy and support medical team with medication reviews and medication management. Participate in and develop activities which support health promotion. Participating as a full member of the MDT and manage and support clinics with MDT input. Education & Experience Be registered on the General Division of the register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to so register. 5 years post registration experience of which a minimum is 2 years in the specialty of paediatric enuresis and constipation. Formal recognised post-registration education relevant to the area, at level 8 (higher diploma) according to the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework. Demonstrate clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards. Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice. Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
