Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Rapid Cardiac Care Hours: 37.5 hours per week ROLE PURPOSE Blackrock Health Blackrock Clinic Rapid Cardiac Care service provides swift access to our team of cardiology specialists. Rapid Cardiac Care means fast and expert medical care for patients with worrying, acute cardiac symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or a racing pulse rate. Patients have quick access to experienced doctors and cardiac specialists who can diagnose conditions. Our specialist team will review cases directly with one of our expert cardiac consultants. QUALIFICATIONS Registered in the general division of NMBI. Evidence of personal professional development. Experience in acute cardiology setting. Higher Diploma Cardiology Nursing. Management Experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Independently manage a group of patients whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and personalised patient care. The post holder will work primarily in our acute cardiac assessment clinic. Work in partnership with the consultant cardiologists, ED unit, William Stokes Ward Unit and the angiography unit. Provide skilled nursing assessment and care to patients referred to the Blackrock Clinic. Develop and promote working relationships with other acute care facilities and general practitioner liaison facilitator to promote the service to GPs. Be a resource throughout the hospital in the care of cardiology patients. Demonstration of innovation and leadership are essential for this role. In addition to clinical responsibility and full knowledge of the Domains of Competence as set down by NMBI, the post holder has a responsibility in direct and indirect care, patient advocacy, audit and research and management.
