Job Description

What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall Bank of Ireland IT Digital transformation journey.

You will work with the best talent in a multi-vendor environment and be part of a growing team which is building solutions from scratch using native technologies.

In this Role, you will


Design cloud solutions and new features that are aligned with business requirements and bank policies, refining requirements to ensure the built solution meets business and customer needs.

Provide guidance to business and other areas on the best use of cloud computing, and guiding partners on solution implementation.

Assess opportunities for cloud adoption, constantly review the bank's public cloud platform for innovation and cost optimisation.

Present and communicate architectural solutions to technical and non-technical partners, working with other bank areas to ensure security by design is adopted.

Create and document repeatable patterns to accelerate cloud adoption and reduce overhead for platform customers.

What will make you stand out?
Previous experience in the role, preferably in the financial sector using AWS or Azure (preferably AWS) with exposure to cloud adoption and migration will make you stand out
Experience with CI/CD and Dev Ops using Ia C tools such as Terraform and Cloud Formation is also desirable.

You will pay attention to detail with the ability to review and assess complex data in order to qualify and identify and communicate key messages.

Experience in writing design documents and presenting them to partners is also important.

This will require superb communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build enduring relationships at all levels across the organisation.

Essential Qualifications
There are no specific qualifications or minimum educational requirements needed for this role.

The below are desirable:
Certification in AWS and/or Azure.

Dev Ops tooling and processes (preferable Scrum, Agile and CI/CD: Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket or public cloud native such as ADO, Code Build, Cloud 9).

Cloud Security - Guardrails, SCPs and networking.
TOGAF certification is a plus.

The Infrastructure Operations Team's role is to "Enable the Service" by driving our partners to provide the bank with the technology required to run the business, secure customer and bank data, improve stability, and remain current in order to provide a premier service.

The Cloud Centre of Excellence is on a mission to enable cloud and act as a trusted advisor for cloud adoption in the bank, which is a foundation for digital transformation.

This is a hybrid onsite role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as ITC, Cabinteely, Dublin 18.

Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with the manager.
