Cloud Support Engineer - Storage and Content Delivery (French speaker) job description: Provide technical support for customers using cloud services, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer problems.

Amazon Web Services is the market leader in cloud computing, and as a Cloud Support Engineer, you will be at the forefront of this technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers.

You will act as the 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products, arming customers with the tools and tactics to get the most out of their product and support investment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Learn and use groundbreaking technologies
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to customers' individual needs
  • Interact with leading engineers around the world
  • Partner with Amazon Web Services teams to help reproduce and resolve customer issues
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Drive projects that improve support-related processes and customers' technical support experience
  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the developer community
  • Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will be responsible for solving customers' cases through various customer contact channels, including telephone, email, and web/live chat.

You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions for customers and drive customer interactions by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.

Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Support Engineer may also:

  • Coach/mentor new hires
  • Develop and present training
  • Partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives
  • Participate in new hiring
  • Write tools/scripts to help the team
  • Work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives

The SCD (Storage and Content Delivery) role supports Media Content Delivery (CloudFront, Simple Email Service, Media services...) and Data in Transit Storage (Backup, Elastic File System, S3...)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in French
  • Experience with Content Delivery Networks, knowledge of web caching, validation, cache-control, and experience troubleshooting streaming issues
  • Knowledge with media frameworks, using both video and audio, such as FFmpeg, Quicktime, DirectShow, and experience troubleshooting filesystem, block, and object storage

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics or related field
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and/or experience with any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience scripting or developing in one or more of the following languages: UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java,.NET (C#), JavaScript
