Amplifi Talentare proud to be working exclusively with a leading business in theConstruction Sectorwho have a requirement for an experiencedCommercial Directorto join their high performing team. As a Commercial Director, you have overall responsibility for projects, and therefore must be an excellent communicator and leader, who can bring teams together. There is flexibility on location and this role can be based in Monaghan or Donegal. Managing multiple, high value contracts can be challenging, and in these situations being aCommercial Directoroften feels like a balancing act between the client and the project team. Effective risk management is essential, and to achieve this you must understand the risks, minimise them to deliver expected outcomes, all while maintaining first class client relationships. You will add value for the companies clients by taking control, leading from the front through the entire project lifecycle. Role Overview: Resolving contractual and commercial problems Contract assessment and understanding/implementation of contract law. Risk assessment and ensuring effective controls and milestones are in place and adhered to Commercial management of contracts Profitability Analysis for each project and identifying potential cost savings and revenue enhancement. Reviewing/developing operational process flows Overseeing financial KPIs Ensuring that all stakeholders understand and adhere to agreed contractual obligations. Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties. Budgeting/cost control Management/mentoring/training of Quantity Surveyors and the wider team Lead the tendering process and prepare competitive bids for each project. Track, monitor and present any variations to the client and ensure timely submission of all contractual documentation. Track, manage and finalise delay claims with the client for each project. Key skills include: Strong relationship building skills you will work with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project managers. The ability to collaborate with your team and your network is essential. Create a culture of collaboration with your team, sub-contractors, and the internal/external stakeholders you engage with. Ensure effective communication and your team will understand the key aspects of the contract through financial direction. They can raise concerns or offer opinions with confidence knowing they will be listened to. Balance the bottom line of a project and the satisfaction of a client. The Person Experience working within theConstruction Industrywith 8 years+ experience is essential. We are interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have risen through the ranks and distinguished themselves as good leaders. Alternatively, you may have an Engineering background. A Qualification such as a BSc in Commercial Management & Quantity Survey is desirable. You may have completed the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICs) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
