Actavo Commercial Director Finance Dublin Permanent PART 1: Role Details Role Title: Commercial Director Department: Group Services Reports To: Head of Group Services Location: Dublin PART 2: Role Purpose In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the overall Commercial Strategy for both our Network and In-home Divisions. The key focus will be on driving commercial success and ensuring execution of projects in line with strict budgets. Experience of Power networks preferable. PART 3: Principal Responsibilities Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work, ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you. Full responsibility for and governance of developing and tracking the N&IH Commercial strategy. Full responsibility for ensuring that all projects are executed and delivered in line with budgeted costs and dates. Monitoring of business performance, along with the productivity and margin of each contract and account. Researching the market, identifying current and possible future trends, possible opportunities and necessary corrective actions from reported data. Proposing innovative ideas to grow the business bottom line. PART 4: Person Specification Experience and Qualifications A third level Commercial related qualification. Chartered membership of SCSI or equivalent as Quantity Surveyor. 8+ years’ experience at a senior level in a Commercial role as part of a matrix driven organisation, in the utilities industry, preferably with significant experience in the Power industry. Extensive commercial experience in developing, tracking and monitoring a commercial plan. Skills & Competencies (evidence of) Technical: Financial acumen, with proven experience with commercial controls, financial modelling and pricing. Interpersonal: Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills required. Business Skills: Ability to apply commercial knowledge to accurately build and model costs and prices, evaluate and mitigate risk and potential. Ability to operate in a matrix structure working closely with commercial and operations teams to support the overall commercial strategy. Budget Planning Cost Tracking Financial Planning Communication and Negotiation People Management Financial Management Personal Proven experience managing projects in a collaborative approach, working across business units, to drive results from conception to completion. A history of successfully engaging internal and external stakeholders (at senior levels and across functions) on transformational new ideas; adept at moving senior management to action.
