Seeking a Commercial Director to drive B2B growth, develop sales strategy, and lead a high-performing team in the retail sector.

As the Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the sales strategy and driving B2B growth within the retail sector.

You will be a self-starter, bringing extensive experience in sales and a deep understanding of the complexities of the retail environment.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate a variety of moving cogs to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Area Director to develop a comprehensive strategic plan and vision for the territory operations.
  • Deliver on commercial targets, including Net Sales and Operating Profit, as set by the Area Director and Group Commercial Director.
  • Lead business planning, forecasting, and priority setting within the territory to drive performance.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the organisation, fostering a culture of high performance through challenging, coaching, and supporting the team.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key customers and stakeholders in the country's retail industry to enhance business opportunities.
  • Act as the key contact in the territory, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, leveraging your experience to drive results and develop talent.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong ability to provide inspirational leadership by challenging, coaching, and supporting the team while leading by example.
  • Demonstrated ability to create business opportunities through proactive actions, taking calculated risks, and strong prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercially minded with sales experience in the FMCG sector in the Irish marketplace with proven track record in negotiating and closing opportunities.
  • Ability to cultivate opportunities and build relationships with leading buyers within the industry.
  • Strong knowledge, insight, and network within the country's retail industry.
  • Experience in B2B Sales.
  • A university degree in Management, Economy, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
