Job Description
Commercial Director sought for leading business in Construction Sector. Key responsibilities include managing high-value contracts, risk management, and leading a team of Quantity Surveyors.
As a Commercial Director, you will be responsible for:
- Managing multiple high-value contracts and balancing client and project team needs
- Effective risk management, understanding and minimising risks to deliver expected outcomes
- Leading from the front through the entire project lifecycle, adding value for clients
- Resolving contractual and commercial problems, contract assessment and implementation
- Commercial management of contracts, profitability analysis, and cost savings
- Reviewing and developing operational process flows, overseeing financial KPIs
- Ensuring stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations
- Managing budgets, cost control, and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and the wider team
- Leading the tendering process, preparing competitive bids, and tracking variations
- Managing delay claims and ensuring timely submission of contractual documentation
Key skills required:
- Strong relationship building skills, working with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project managers
- Ability to collaborate with the team and network, creating a culture of collaboration
- Effective communication, ensuring the team understands key contract aspects

Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in the Construction Industry
- Quantity Surveyor background, with leadership skills and a good track record
- Desirable qualifications: BSc in Commercial Management & Quantity Survey, RICS APC
