Role: In-House Counsel - Commercial Contracts This role is based in Dublin and will report to the Group General Counsel. It offers an excellent opportunity to join a major player in the financial technology industry - a dynamic global business that has more than tripled in size since 2010 and continues to expand both organically and through strategic acquisitions. This is a chance to practice law in a fast-paced, in-house setting, working alongside a highly collaborative international team of lawyers and legal analysts. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Advising the Group General Counsel and other senior executives on all legal aspects of the company's commercial relationships. Drafting and negotiating software license agreements and other contractual documents. Providing actionable legal advice aligned with the company's strategic commercial objectives. Advising on and assisting in the resolution of contentious matters. Applying and developing best practices in risk management. Adopting and implementing lean management principles in the delivery of legal services. This is a global role, and the candidate will need to become familiar with the relevant aspects of commercial law in the jurisdictions where our hiring partners operate. Requirements The ideal candidate will be: A qualified lawyer (solicitor, barrister, or attorney) from a common law jurisdiction with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). Fluent in spoken and written English. Smart and commercially savvy. Able to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. Intellectually curious, independent, and rigorous in their thinking. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Skilled at managing document templates and efficiently processing legal documentation. Desirable Skills Experience in international mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions. Experience working in the legal department of a multinational company. Expertise in intellectual property (IP) or information technology (IT) law.
