We are expanding our hedging, pricing and trading team to allow us to support an expansion into the commercial energy supply sector through our new Yuno Energy brand. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an energy pricing and hedging analyst to join our team of energy and commodity market experts. Our work is heavily data based; therefore, you should have a third level degree in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance / economics, or the sciences. Work experience in the industry is desired for the role with any gas and electricity pricing or trading experience being highly advantageous. Though if you feel you have transferrable experience and skills and you are very keen to immerse yourself in the role even the lack of industry experience can be overcome. You should have a general interest in electricity and gas markets, and a desire to know and understand more about how our customers consume energy and how wholesale and retail energy markets will develop in the future. You will take responsibility for designing electricity, gas and heat tariffs for our commercial customer base and will also take the lead in implementing, tracking and trading hedge strategies, along with providing best in class analysis of the markets we operate in. As we are a data driven company, Ideally, you should have an understanding, or the ability to gain an understanding of tools used to store, query and process databases. Additionally, you will be involved in supporting customers in their transition to renewable energy. The Role The role requires close co-operation with our Forward Trading, Finance and Commercial sales teams. It will focus primarily on two areas: Commercially Focused: Support the production of commercial electricity, gas and heat prices and tariffs Preparing of price and information for tenders/quotes for larger customers Track prices offered and benchmark Conduct competitor analysis and help us understand the market we operate in Critique and evaluate competitor offerings, use these findings to better serve our existing commercial customers and aid in the expansion and diversity of our customer base. Work with our hedging team to manage and report on price risk Assist in the day to day trading activities of the company and partake in a rota executing trades for commercial customers Work with management to produce board reports on our commercial activities and exposures Produce tools to help automate new or existing business processes Report activities or findings in a concise and transparent manner Customer Focused: Answering price related queries for both internal and external customers Provide trading support to our customers and serve as a point of contact Assist in the provision of market insights to our customer base Support the commercial sales team, working closing to resolve customer queries and ensure a high level of customer experience Assist commercial customers in their green energy transition by providing guidance on renewable energy solutions, including supporting Power Purchase Agreements with renewable assets and Guarantees of Origin pricing Skills & Experience We recognise that you may not have all of these skills but we are looking for someone who exhibit some of them and are driven to learn the rest. Previous experience in the energy industry within supply, generation, regulation or analytical role is highly desirable but not essential if relevant skills and experience are transferable . Be resourceful and proactive. We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys having accountability and ownership while being part of a collaborative team Strong problem solving, analysis and attention to detail High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a necessity along with the ability to understand and develop complex excel based tools Strong data handling & programming skills are highly desirable with some experience in tools such as or similar to: Python, SQL and Tableau.
