Job Title: Commercial Underwriter Product Manager Reporting to: Head of Product in the Underwriting Function Job Overview: The Commercial Underwriter Product Manager is responsible for the proactive management of the commercial portfolio to deliver against its business plan. This role is integral to shaping our client's Commercial Insurance proposition. Key Responsibilities: Act as product owner for Commercial products, overseeing all aspects affecting pricing, customer outcomes, and growth. Ensure commercial products meet customer needs and comply with all regulations. Lead Underwriting Product Oversight and Governance implementation across the Commercial Product suite. Contribute to annual budgeting, strategy, and initiative planning. Develop and utilise MI to track and act upon performance and outcomes. Manage acceptance criteria and decision collateral within the Underwriting governance framework to support business strategy. Supervise the control environment in Commercial underwriting, ensuring quality standards are achieved and championing improvements and efficiencies. Provide underwriting teams with clear portfolio plans and quality underwriting and risk appetite guidance. Key Requirements: Professional Insurance Qualifications, ideally to Associateship level or higher. Minimum of 5 years management experience in the Insurance Industry. Deep understanding of portfolio management principles and marketing of commercial insurance products. Enthusiastic about the insurance market with a vision, drive, and attitude for making things possible. Excellent communicator with developed report writing and presentation skills. Outstanding numerical, analytical, and planning skills. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Self-motivated with the ability to work under own initiative and a desire to develop knowledge and experience. Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with others to achieve company's objectives.
