Commis/Junior Chef Excel recruitment is currently recruiting for a Commis/Junior Chef for one of our clients in the Dublin area. This is an ideal role for an aspiring chef looking to step into a culinary position while working in a fast-paced and creative kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and portioning, ensuring precision and consistency. Work closely with senior chefs to execute assigned cooking tasks, following recipes and standards set by the Head Chef. Maintain a clean and organised workstation, strictly adhering to food hygiene and health and safety standards. Assist with checking deliveries, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimise waste. Take every opportunity to learn and develop your culinary skills from senior chefs, enhancing your knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques. Support the wider kitchen brigade in ensuring smooth service during busy periods, including plating and presentation. What We're Looking For: A genuine passion for cooking and eagerness to learn Basic experience in a professional kitchen environment is a plus, but not essential Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Willingness to take direction from senior chefs and improve upon feedback What We Offer: Free meals on duty Bike to work scheme Refer a friend scheme.
