Job Description

Seeking a part-time Communications Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for Engaging Dementia and the Irish Dementia Café Network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and drive the implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy and plan for Engaging Dementia and the Irish Dementia Café Network.
  • Develop and execute print, digital, and person-to-person communications to market Engaging Dementia's events, training courses, and resources.
  • Lead the organisation in all aspects of the annual international conference, including the programme, sponsorship, promotion, and logistics.
  • Create content for and manage Engaging Dementia and the Irish Dementia Café Network's online presences, including the website, social media, and email communications.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies for Engaging Dementia's training and annual conference, as well as the Irish Dementia Café Network.
  • Moderate online and in-person meetings and workshops, and present materials as required.
  • Use reporting functionality on CRM to support marketing activities.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Build and implement a publishing calendar for Engaging Dementia social media channels.
  • Build an image library from Engaging Dementia events, training courses, and the Engaging Dementia café network.
  • Outreach to nursing homes and other relevant healthcare professionals as required.
  • Report on the success of the communications plan against agreed KPIs to the CEO and the Board.

Requirements:

  • Third-level qualification in marketing, events management, or a related area (minimum Level 7).
  • At least 3-4 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge base relating to key aspects of the role, including marketing, event co-ordination, project management, data management, communication flows, and report-writing.
  • Ideally, previous experience of working with a community/voluntary group.

Key Skills and Characteristics:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to multi-task, deliver to deadline, and prioritise deliverables.
  • Proven project management abilities.
  • High level of competency with a range of IT software, including Microsoft Office suite and WordPress content management skills.
  • Experience of managing Salesforce CRM or similar CRM.
  • Strong report-writing skills with good attention to detail.
  • A positive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience of managing communication flows.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with public-speaking.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in an autonomous and self-sufficient manner.
  • An excellent team player.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
