Job Description

A Comms Executive is sought to drive and deliver GOAL's communications objectives, strengthen its media positioning, and support the overall strengthening of its brand.

About the role

The Comms Executive will work closely with the Head of Comms and other members of the team to ensure the smooth operation of an agile, response and dynamic comms function. The role will involve managing the content infrastructure, ensuring that all imagery and video material is well captioned and dated accurately, and that it is easy for all Comms Team members and internal stakeholders to access, navigate and obtain the content they require for donor pitch presentations, design pieces, videos etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Comms and other members of the team to ensure the smooth operation of an agile, response and dynamic comms function.
  • Manage the content infrastructure, ensuring that all imagery and video material is well captioned and dated accurately.
  • Drive external communications to generate measurable media coverage around key programme and fundraising campaigns.
  • Work in partnership with the Head of Comms and Comms Officer to assess design requests from colleagues across the organisation and devise detailed design briefs.
  • Work in partnership with the Digital Comms Manager to update content on the website and design and build new pages as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in comms, marketing, journalism or design.
  • Two years' experience in media, communications, or a PR agency environment.
  • Ability to alter style of writing to reflect the audience, demonstrating an ability to simplify and explain complex issues and procedures.
  • Team player with excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work schedules.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to new opportunities.
  • Keen interest in the development sector.

Work Arrangements

The Comms Executive will be required to work 2 days per week from the GOAL HQ office in Dublin. GOAL offers flexible working arrangements and a hybrid model.
