Job Description

Job Summary: Develop and manage strategic internal and external communication programs to raise awareness of Engineers Ireland and its members, growing membership across various engineering disciplines. The role requires experience in marketing, communications, or public affairs with project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute internal and external communications plans with the Head of Public Affairs for stakeholder engagement, media relations, and member communications.

  • Manage press queries, draft, and issue press releases and comments to the media.

  • Create and cultivate strong relationships with media representatives and identify opportunities to raise awareness of the profession.

  • Develop content for press releases, newsletters, and internal communications in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Work with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all communications channels.

  • Write and/or edit leadership communications to capture the voice and strategic priorities of the organization.

  • Initiate, develop, and manage a communications schedule for key events, announcements, and corporate activities.

  • Assist with the production of key publications, including the Annual Report, and support the marketing and communications team with sponsorship and corporate partner activities.

  • Analyze and review communications activity to derive lessons for future use.



Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Rlevant third-level qualification with a minimum of five years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.

  • Experience dealing with the media, handling press queries, and writing press releases is desired.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, project management, and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of social media channels and platforms is desirable, along with excellent MS Office skills, particularly PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a self-motivated attitude to delivery.

Location: Engineers Ireland's Headquarters is based at 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, with occasional travel required for meetings, events, and conferences.
