About the Role
The Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) is seeking a highly skilled Communications Officer to join our Advocacy and Communications Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our communications strategy, aligned with our Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the organisation's communications strategy, ensuring alignment with our Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with the Advocacy and Communications Team to create engaging content for various audiences, including print, broadcast, and online media.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, influencers, and other external partners.
- Provide excellent writing and editing services, producing high-quality content for diverse audiences.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights, ensuring our communications are informed and accurate.
- Work closely with the team to identify and capitalize on opportunities for media coverage and other communications initiatives.
Requirements
- At least five years of relevant employment experience in communications, media, or a related field.
- A university degree in journalism, media and communications, social sciences, humanities, health, or a related field.
- Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights in Ireland and globally.
- Excellent English language skills, with experience of writing in a range of styles for diverse audiences.
