About the role

Energia have an exciting opportunity for a Community Liaison Officer based in Dublin or Belfast.

Reporting to the Community Engagement and Communications Manager, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Energia Renewables team and will work across a range of projects, from the initial development and consultation phase through construction and operation, on an all-island basis.

You will be responsible for liaising with local communities, residents, businesses and locally elected politicians in the areas surrounding our projects and operational assets.

Part of your role will also include copywriting and content creation for external communications, including project information publications, newsletters, website updates, community consultation reports, media releases and social media posts.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities

Day-to-day, here s what your new role would look like:

• Be the first point of contact on the ground for local communities based in the areas surrounding Energia Renewables projects, which are in development, construction or operation.

• Facilitate Energia compliance with industry best practice Community Engagement guidelines, including responding to queries promptly and reporting as appropriate, setting up and maintaining project websites (incl. social media), and leading content creation, compilation and distribution of project information.

• Build a solid understanding of the Energia Renewables portfolio to allow you to provide information to local communities, as appropriate.

• Assist the Community Engagement Manager with the management and promotion of Energia Renewables Community Benefit Funds.

• Maintain regular contact with locally-elected political representatives in the communities where our projects are based or being developed.

• Build relationships with groups and networks in the communities where our projects are based.

• Liaise with all parties in relation to feedback, issues or concerns through a structured communication mechanism.

• Resolve complaints in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.

• Assist with the set up and administration of Near Neighbour payment schemes.

• Identify local community groups and agencies which could complement Energia Group values.

• Arrange and attend community information events and other community gatherings, as required.

• Arrange and attend PR events, as required.

• Compile community engagement reports for senior management.

• Contribute to planning submissions, drafting community consultation reports as part of the application process.

• Provide ad hoc support to other Energia Group projects.

About you

Key Criteria What You ll Need

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in areas such as Public Relations, Media, Marketing or a relevant science or engineering degree.

• Previous experience of managing relations and resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders and third parties preferably in a community-focused role.

• Excellent multi-platform communications skills across all channels with an attention to detail, including content creation, copywriting and proof reading.

• Full clean driving licence and access to vehicle for use in the role, which includes travel to projects and operational sites across the island of Ireland.

Desirable Criteria - These help decide between those who meet all the above key criteria:

• Experience working in a public-facing role, managing complaints or customer queries.

• Experience in planning and managing information and PR events.

• Previous experience of networking and public relations.

• Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience in renewables, or other major infrastructure, project development and construction works.
