The role: An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our Compliance team as a Compliance Consultant (CF2). The successful candidate will support and work with the Chief Risk Officer, the Head of Compliance and the Compliance team to ensure Standard Life International dac (“the Company”) is operating in compliance with its regulatory and legal requirements and to evolve an appropriate 3 lines of defence model ensuring that accountability and responsibility for conduct risk are clearly identified. This role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to lead key deliverables for the Compliance team and to support the business in all aspects of regulatory and conduct risk management. Key Responsibilities Work with the Business to promote a clear and consistent understanding of risk and controls across business divisions and promote discussion on related issues and possible solutions within specific business areas. Advise and support individuals to ensure that they understand responsibilities and accountabilities under and that these have been appropriately considered and potential conflicts of interest identified and managed. Support the Business on new Business initiatives/projects and provide Line 2 opinions and challenge ensuring that the customer demands and needs are considered resulting in a positive customer outcome. Provide Line 2 feedback on all customer marketing communications ensuring that the risks are clearly called out to the customer and that all key information is included. Advice and guidance on Product Governance and Oversight (POG) framework including input on consumer protection and conduct considerations for new products initiatives. Support the Compliance team to maintain the regulatory radar process conducting a second-level review/four-eye check to ensure all relevant regulatory developments which have been identified in the period are completely and accurately assessed. Support the Business to get a better understanding of the regulatory requirements applicability to the Company for specific regulatory developments. Support the Compliance team to maintain and review the Compliance Policies and relevant underlying procedural documents. Assess on a regular basis the key controls for the internal Policies allocated to you. Carry out assurance reviews, agreeing management actions and documenting the results in assurance reports in line with the Compliance Assurance Plan approved by the Board. Provide compliance consultancy to all areas of the Business, covering everyday queries, corporate projects and business initiatives. Establish and maintain highly effective relationships with other Business stakeholders in the spirit of continuous improvement and to ensure effective information-sharing across the business. This role has been identified as CF - 2 under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime. The successful candidate will be required to comply with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Standards on an ongoing basis. What We’re Looking For At least 7 years experience operating in a Compliance/Risk and regulatory environment. Knowledge of and experience in the regulatory regimes and relevant legislation impacting life insurance companies’ products and services. Understanding (and ideally direct experience) of Solvency II, Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), Central Bank of Ireland Consumer Protection Code (CPC) and Minimum Competency Code (MCC). Good relationship and stakeholder management experience. Strong judgement, drive and influence. Excellent planning, organisational skills, and ability to work autonomously.
