Mercers Compliance Department protects Mercers reputation and provides advice to the Company. It understands challenges and advises on the impact of regulation in our business, with the objective of: Actively participating in business decisions to champion our clients interests Collaborating with the business to position Compliance centrally in their daily work; Ensuring client interests are at the centre of everything we do; Cultivating and enhancing the compliance culture within Mercer; The role holder will report to the MGIM Head of Compliance (the Compliance Officer) and be responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of regulatory and other risks in respect of Mercer Global Investment Management Limited (MGIM), the Irish authorised fund management company within Mercers Investments business in Ireland. Support the Compliance Officer in performing DP Regulatory Compliance duties. Maintenance of Central Bank correspondence log. Completion of scheduled regulatory returns and timely filing of returns via the Central Bank Portal. Perform compliance monitoring reviews or assessments and may make preliminary recommendations based on initial findings. Maintenance of the Companys Policy Map ensuring all policies are reviewed as these fall due. Maintenance of key documents including internal policies owned by Compliance. Monitoring and oversight of complaints handling by the Company. Roll out, tracking and review of quarterly employee declarations, where required. Monitor investment and borrowing restriction breaches and other regulatory or prospectus breaches arising in respect of the Mercer funds in Ireland. Participates in training to develop skills needed to advance compliance knowledge and abilities. Query management, may provide compliance advice to the business areas of the Fund Management Company. What you will need to have: A fundamental understanding of Irish (and EU) Investments regulation in particular UCITS & AIFMD, MiFID. Knowledge of fund structures, different fund types and different assets class would be an advantage. Highly motivated to develop expertise in regulatory compliance and investor protection in the investment funds industry. Minimum of two years investment compliance experience. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities assigned. Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple tasks and achieve target deadlines. Ability to work effectively within a small, fast-growing team and assist in the development of that team. Fluent English essential. What will make you stand out: Investment/Fund Compliance experience particularly advantageous. A current role in the Risk, Audit or Compliance group of an asset management/regulatory advisory firm would be valued.
