Job Description
Drive improvement and corrective actions in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers as a Component Engineer/Supplier Manufacturing Engineer at Abbott, a global healthcare leader with a portfolio of life-changing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish incoming inspection and test procedures
• Develop acceptance criteria for materials
• Monitor supplier performance
• Focus on cost and risk reductions
• Manage projects to reduce material cost or supply risks
• Work with teams to conduct business risk assessments and develop action plans
Requirements:
• NQF level 7 in a relevant discipline
• 2+ years of related experience
• Strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures
• Ability to work on problems of moderate scope and exercise authority and judgment within defined limits
• Cultivate a wide range of internal networks and begin to develop an extensive external network of resources
• Plan, organise, and prioritise own daily work routine to meet established schedule
• Work under general supervision and follow established procedures
