Data Centre Construction Manager This job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out within the role and identifies the level of responsibility but not limited to, the position may also require other duties which are to be carried out from time to time as deemed appropriate by your line manager Responsible to the Project Manager to: Manage and be responsible for safety of personnel involved with the project and effective management of the safety systems. Ensure that authority and responsibility is properly delegated to other members of the project team and that those members of the team discharge their responsibilities. Ensure attendance at Pre-start contract meeting to understand and agree the requirements of the Contract / Project, to be commercially aware of the contract sum, the contract documents and any inclusions & exclusions. Review contract requirements and agree with the Project Team. Agree the Project Remit with the Client and ensure the programme conforms to the requirements of the Remit. Ensure a clearly defined budget and programme is adhered to and maintained through to Contract Completion. Ensure successful, safe and efficient delivery of the projects under your control, to ensure: Rostered competent labour for the works is in line with the client and legal requirements on hours worked in Ireland and Europe and that there are enough resources allocated to each work package to ensure delivery is on time, to standard and meeting all safety and assurance criteria. Ensure timely forecasting of labour according to the programme, to be reviewed weekly with Construction Manager and the PTI project QS. Pod Trak labour have received training and are competent to carry out the task. Assist the Project Manager to prepare 12 weeks look ahead, and issue via email to Client and Head of Data Centres Manage, prepare, review and authorise Risk Assessments Method Statements (RAMS) for issue to the client and that Task Briefings, Risk & COSHH Assessments are in place. Ensure all teams sign up to RAMS and Risk Assessments for works being carried out. Ensure all RAMs and Task Briefs are to be recorded on RAMs register. Ensure that all significant project risks are identified, and suitable measures are put in place to mitigate risks. Ensure that the RAMs & Task Brief is issued to the Site Supervisor to brief all operatives. Manage, initiate and administer the implementation of both the Client and Company HSQE Policies and procedures, such as: Project contract HSQE Conditions and ensure that the project team operates in accordance with it. Attend Daily white board, and daily DABS meetings on site or assure attendance from PTI Project Team Ensure that Dont walk by are being completed liaise with HSQE Advisor and Supervisors to ensure weekly quota are being met and are of good quality. Ensure material used to build are as per the technical specification issued to the client and that Technical submissions are submitted and kept on submissions register. Request for Information (RFI) are submitted to client and kept on RFI register Endure Drawings are filed, and a drawing register is kept up to date with client drawing issues Raise and submit early warning notices in a timely manner to PTI QS Weekly PTI Project Meeting with Head of Data Centre, PTI Commercial Manager, and HSQE Manager. These meeting to be recorded and to cover: Commercial, Programme vs woks achieved, Labour and HSQE. Assist Site Supervisors to inspect works and produce a Defects and Outstanding Works List (DOWL)or Snag List as per agreed PTI Quality Plan, close out findings and arrange a joint Client / Contractor walkout to identify and agree snags prior to final completion and handover. Manage the handover / hand back process including project close out to meet the project requirements. Manage the flow of information between PTI Head Office, the Client and Sites: Meet with the Project Manager weekly to review the programme, budget, project costs, and interim valuations and discuss early warnings & compensation events. Ensure suitable welfare facilities are in place and any other legal requirements are adhered to. Liaise with the Plant Department to ensure that all machinery and plant, including power and hand tools are maintained in good condition and fit for use, have necessary test certificates and that any defects are reported (GA1, GA2, GA3) Manage and submit material / plant requisitions to the Procurement Department in a timely manner in line with the Company Procedure. Assist in the identification of and establish the shortfalls in training / competence / behavioural safety among Site Management and Pod Trak labour and arrange consultation with the Head of Data Centres to approve training required. Manage and ensure the project folders are updated and issue mandatory paperwork (for example MEWP inspections) to the PTI project document controller on a weekly basis to comply with Quality Assurance and Company Policy. Carry out weekly Planned General Inspections (PGI) on the Pod Trak App. Maintain a PGI programme with the Project Manager and Site Managers/ Supervisors alike on a rolling basis. Contribute to accident investigations, close-out any actions arising from PGIs and make recommendations for future works. Liaise with the HSQE team in relation to Occupational Health Hazards and keep up to date with compliance and new legislation that has been issued form HSQE department. Promote the Pod-Trak Values, and PALs Behavioural Based Safety programme in all aspects of your role with Pod-Trak
