Construction Project Engineer for Data Center Capacity Delivery

A highly skilled Construction Project Engineer is needed to support the delivery of Amazon's Data Center projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and contractors to resolve project issues and manage key delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain communication and coordination across data center regions, general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for construction/design changes, RFI's, work/change orders, build durations, and critical priorities.
  • Request and review work activity MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
  • Onboard new project vendors for security badging and orientation.
  • Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
  • Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
  • Compile and store construction data from vendors.
  • Manage project checklists, including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.

A Day in the Life

As a Construction Project Engineer, you will spend most of your time on site working closely with vendors to drive project outcomes, resolving project issues, and managing key delivery functions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization.
  • Experience updating and managing construction data, including milestone dates, requests for information (RFI), design changes, and change orders.
  • Experience with developing workflows and tracking systems, including change management, vendor equipment delivery, and document controls.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software.
  • Experience in a mission facility.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including air handlers and building management systems.
  • Experience with electrical systems, including diesel generators, uninterruptible power systems, switchboards, transformers, and power distribution units.
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects and/or multiple significant upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations.
