Job Description
This job involves managing construction projects from initiation to completion, providing up-to-date programmes, cash-flows, and risk registers, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple projects, overseeing design teams and contractors, and ensuring tight cost controls
- Assisting in the appraisal of new opportunities to increase housing supply and working with Local Authorities and the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage to deliver new social housing
- Procuring and tendering processes, line managing junior staff, and coordinating information between departments
- Reviewing design proposals, conducting performance reviews of professional consultants and contractors, and maintaining knowledge of Government Public Works Capital Contracts and procedures
- Ensuring internal audit requirements are addressed and acting as line manager when needed
- Preparing tender reports, operating and maintaining department procedures and systems, and attending public meetings as required
- Liaising with site-based Clerk of Works and leading dispute resolution on projects
- Monitoring financials, submitting certificates and invoices, and reporting on payment trackers
- Submitting funding applications and developing cases for cost and time overruns
