Role/Department: The role within Depositary Operations is to ensure that Northern Trust fulfils its oversight/regulatory responsibilities under the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD) & UCITS Directives. The primary responsibilities will be in the area of Safekeeping of Assets and Asset Verification. Verification of "Other Assets" and familiarity with different fund structures and documentation required to confirm assets. The key responsibilities of the role include The ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment; Ability to review and approve other partner's work; Ensuring reporting requirements for both internal and external clients are produced on a monthly basis. Ability to perform and review Asset Verification activities, sourcing appropriate documentation to verify ownership of the Fund over "Other Assets"; Participate/chair on quarterly meetings with relevant parties to ensure Depositary Operations meet all governance requirements for assigned processes; Review of exposure reporting on Market Oversight - Restricted/Watch Markets for multiple jurisdictions; Involvement in change management of processes as required; Review existing processes , identify gaps and suggest improvements; Participating in ensuring governance procedures within the department are being adhered to; Ensure new clients and new fund launches are incorporated into relevant processes; Skills/ Qualifications: The successful candidate will benefit from having: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external parties; A flexible approach to changing business requirements; Excellent multi-tasking and strong problem solving skills; Excellent administration and organizational skills; Ability to display initiative and professionalism; Ability to deal with complex issues; Ability to assist in testing new processes or system development; 3 years Fund administration experience, ideally in Private Equity, Real Estate, Debt or Fund of Fund asset classes.
