Dublin, Ireland Full time, Permanent € 224,437 - 269,594 Fluent English Closing date: 27 Oct 2024, 18:45 Who We Are (CHI) is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare and consists of hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown. Skills and Attributes Medical Consultant Postgraduate training in paediatric respiratory medicine Registration in specialist division Description Children’s Health Ireland are seeking to fill this Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Physician post on a permanent basis 37 hours per week at Children’s Health Ireland. This includes 18.50 hours per week at CHI at Temple Street and 18.50 hours per week at CHI at Tallaght. Purpose of the Role: Strategy: To reduce extremely long waiting lists for outpatient clinic review: currently there is a two year waiting list for a routine new appointment with a consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine at CHI at Temple Street and 1 year at CHI at Tallaght. To reduce waiting lists for investigations of sleep disordered breathing. Currently there is a two year waiting list for overnight studies to diagnose these disorders. To reduce waiting times for investigations to assess and regularly monitor gas exchange in children on long term ventilation. Eligibility Criteria Professional Qualifications and Experience Mandatory: Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Paediatrics. Two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric respiratory medicine. Desirable Criteria: Clinical fellowship, or specialist training, in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, national or international. Experience with interventional bronchoscopy and aerodigestive disorders is desirable but not essential. Essential: Skills / Competencies / Knowledge: Significant experience in clinical practice in delivery of acute unscheduled care. Experienced clinician with credibility and the ability to command the respect of all clinical and non-clinical professionals. Excellent inter-personal skills, including experience with public, professional, media and political communications. Demonstrate commitment to fostering partnerships, multi-professional and multi-disciplinary relationships. Demonstrate leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
