Job Description

Paediatrician required to provide medical assessment and supportive care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, working in community and hospital settings.

The role involves delivering medical support and diagnostic work-ups for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, working closely with community disability teams and hospital services.

The paediatrician will contribute to the management of complications commonly experienced by children with disability, including feeding and nutrition, gastrointestinal health and sleep.

The role requires a consultant paediatrician with a special interest in neurodevelopment/neurodisability, with experience in paediatric neurodisability/community child health.

The ideal candidate will have registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of General Paediatrics.

The candidate will also have two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric neurodisability/community child health.

The role is part of a new approach to care for children with disability, which aims to deliver safe and appropriate care to paediatric patients as close to home as possible.

The paediatrician will work closely with community disability teams and hospital services to provide medical support and diagnostic work-ups for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
