Job Description

Consultant Psychiatrist required for a prestigious private hospital in Dublin, with a focus on General Adult Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry or Psychiatry of Later Life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and undertake all duties and functions within the Consultant's area of competence, aligning with policies specified by the Clinical Director.
  • Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director to support operational and strategic plans.
  • Advise the Clinical Director on clinical priorities, actively participating in strategic development discussions.
  • Manage clinical team members as designated by the Clinical Director.
  • Foster an open and inclusive working style, ensuring positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and Mental Health Commission requirements.
  • Develop innovative ways of delivering clinical services and maintain the highest standards of clinical effectiveness.
  • Facilitate professional clinical competence and participate in performance management.
  • Assist with collaborative teaching and training programs in line with the client's strategy.
  • Promote research activity and teaching in the Hospital according to the organization's strategic plan.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the Specialist Register (Psychiatrist) of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
  • Minimum of seven years post-grad experience.
  • Registration as a general adult psychiatrist with a sub-specialized interest in Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry desirable.
  • People management experience or position of additional responsibility to the clinical area.
  • Proven track record in leading change and developing clinical services.
  • Energetic individual with solid experience collaborating with a diverse team of clinicians and strong knowledge of Clinical Governance.
  • Good knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organization.
  • Ability to deliver core contracted hours and undertake on-call services as per the agreed rota.
