Job Summary: Risk Management Specialist to oversee, assess and advise on risk management for Northern Trust's Ireland operations, including service delivery, board representation and reporting.

Role/ Department: The Ireland Risk Management function is part of the independent Corporate Risk Management organisation, working closely with Irish fiduciary and administration entities to oversee risk management.

  • Engage with business management to assess and understand macro level risks and issues.
  • Provide consultation and advice on risk management related matters.
  • Support the local implementation of the risk management framework, including operational resiliency and cyber risk frameworks.
  • Prepare risk reporting and assessments for senior management.
  • Act as an escalation point for local risk issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of regular legal entity risk reporting.
  • Support and challenge the refinement of metrics and associated thresholds to assess the risk profile of Irish legal entities.
  • Participate in legal entity capital planning and development of stress testing.
  • Support the development of Irish entity risk frameworks, including risk inventory and risk appetite statements.
  • Support local implementation of non-financial risk framework elements, including Outsourcing, Operational resilience, Cyber and IT risk framework components.

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is essential.
  • Understanding of fund administration and/or depositary services is desirable.
  • Experience in a risk management role is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently or work as part of a team.
  • Effective time management.
  • Good written skills with an ability to prepare succinct risk reporting.
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively present and contribute in business meetings and risk forums.
