Consultant Adult Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry
As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will provide high-quality mental health care for older people with severe and enduring mental health problems, both inpatient and outpatient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality mental health care for older people with severe and enduring mental health problems, both inpatient and outpatient.
- Work closely with other teams and Consultants to ensure coherent and high-quality mental health care for older people with severe and enduring mental health problems within the Cork/Kerry area.
- Teach, manage, coach, and engage in the practice and education of medical students, medical staff, and other allied health professionals as appropriate.
About the Role:
This is a 12-24 month contract with a view to go permanent, offering a unique opportunity to work in a community-orientated service, providing specialist mental health services to people over sixty-five who are coming to the service for the first time.

- Basic Salary scale between €217,325- €261,051 in accordance with the HSE 2023 Consultant contract.

Essential Criteria:
- Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for Specialist Registration.
- 5 - 10 years' relevant experience post-graduation.
- Possesses a detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant specialist domain: Old Age Psychiatry.
