Aughinish Alumina, situated in Askeaton on a 1,300-acre site on the Shannon Estuary, is one of the leading industrial plants in Ireland. It is the largest Alumina Refinery in Europe, producing 1.9 million tonnes per annum of product that is the primary raw material for the production of aluminium. The company also has a 150MW Combined Heat & Power Plant. Aughinish Alumina has a history of continuous improvement and innovation and is now considered to be a world leader in the industry. As Contracts Facilitator, youwill act as a liaison between Aughinish and the Contractors to facilitate work activities in a safe, planned, cost effective manner and to a high-quality standard. Key Responsibilities: Fulfil duties of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) on site Preview works with Project Engineer/Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) Be familiar with project documentation, programme and construction methodologies Review risk assessments (RAMS) and construction stage health and safety plans (CHSP) and ensure ongoing compliance with the following during construction phase: Environmental Plan / Waste Management Plan / Construction H&S Plan / Emergency Plan / Project Schedule Coordinate activities to provide a safe place of work for contractors Carry out site H&S inspections/audits Managing Subcontractor performance on site and escalate issues to the project team Conducting a daily briefing with all subcontractor supervisors Review the work progress and certify progress payments to ensure smooth interactions between the contractors and client Assist with the completion of scopes of work to a high-quality standard Flexibility will be required as other duties outside those described above may assigned from time to time. What we look for: At least 5 years experience in a similar role. Time served craftsperson and/or relevant third level qualification. Good broad knowledge of construction regulations/ site safety. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
