Job Overview: The Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle within the organization, from initial negotiation to final execution and beyond. This role requires a strong understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing contracts in Ireland, with a focus on ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and maximizing value for the organization. Key Responsibilities: Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, supplier contracts, and partnership agreements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, procurement, and finance teams, to ensure contract terms align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Lead contract negotiations with external parties, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organization. Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution, and ensure all contractual obligations are met. Maintain a centralized contract management system, ensuring all contracts are properly documented, stored, and easily accessible. Monitor contract performance, including tracking key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all contracts comply with Irish law and relevant regulations, including GDPR, health and safety, and industry-specific requirements. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts, including legal, financial, and operational risks. Work closely with the legal team to resolve any disputes or issues arising from contracts. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters, both internally and externally. Provide regular updates to senior management on contract status, risks, and opportunities. Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in contract execution and management. Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement best practices for contract management processes, including contract creation, approval workflows, and post-execution management. Stay up-to-date with changes in contract law and industry trends, ensuring the organization’s contract management practices remain current and effective. Train and support internal teams on contract-related processes and policies. Financial Oversight: Monitor contract budgets and expenditures, ensuring all financial obligations are met and properly accounted for. Analyze contract performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency. Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets related to contract execution. Dispute Resolution: Manage contract disputes, working with legal counsel to resolve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner. Negotiate settlements or other resolutions to minimize the impact of disputes on the organization. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field. A legal qualification (e.g., solicitor) or certification in contract management (e.g., IACCM) is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, with a strong understanding of Irish contract law and experience in managing contracts across various industries. Technical Skills: Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of legal terminology and contract structures. Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex contracts and identify key risks and opportunities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
