Job Description

The Client and overview of opportunity: My Client are a €40m turnover Civil Engineering Contractor Group with numerous projects in Leinster, Connacht and the UK. Although they aren't the largest company in their sector currently, their Senior Management Team (SMT) come from much larger organisations and have big plans for the future! They work a subcontractor for some of the Country's largest Main Contractors and Developers for residential, commercial, industrial and various public works contracts. Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join them. They have work in the Midlands but the bulk of their work is around Dublin. You'll be working closely with the SMT and Commercial Director who are both very approachable and have plenty of Contracts knowledge which he they are keen to pass-on where possible. The ideal candidate will be looking for their next long-term role and will have aspirations (and the ability) to take on more responsibilities in the future. Main responsibilities will include: Oversee all contract management activities for groundworks and landscaping projects in Ireland. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial oversight. Negotiate and finalize contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions, legal regulations, and company policies. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating any risks or issues. Coordinate with Senior Management and key stakeholders to ensure project execution. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality standards are met. Resolve any contractual disputes or issues promptly and effectively. Prepare and present regular progress and financial reports to senior management and stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders (clients and their representatives, architects, consultants, subbies etc.) Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on-site. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar. Proven experience as Contracts Manager (or equivalent) on Irish/British Construction projects. Knowledge of contract law, construction processes, and best practices (Public Works Contracts knowledge isn't 100& necessary) Excellent negotiation and financial management skills. Proficiency in contract management software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid Safe Pass and manual handling certificates. What's on offer?
