Job Description

Our clients are large energy users in the following sectors: Pharma, Cement, Dairy/Agribusiness, Distillery, Food & Beverage. Job Summary: The successful candidate will design, develop, and implement control systems to enable the decarbonisation of client's energy supply. This will range from designing PLC systems to control mechanical plant, to SCADA systems to monitor solar power plants and optimising operation of battery storage systems to enable clients to minimise their carbon emissions. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will lead the development of our clients state of the art energy asset control and monitoring platform. They will be challenged to look at problems in new ways and implement unconventional but cutting-edge solution. Develop a novel SCADA platform, controlling and monitoring diverse technologies, to optimise customers energy assets Using your experience in industrial energy systems and thermal systems to come up with added value for our clients. Program and commission local PLC based control and monitoring systems to enable efficient operation of heat pump and solar installations. Collaborate with various teams to ensure system integration and functionality Leading the selection of key equipment and software tools Analysing customer site infrastructure and proposing solutions Attending project construction and design meetings and taking an active role Sharing your knowledge with less experienced engineers Take a technical leadership role in the controls team Assist in project management by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring designs meet client expectations. Relevant Experience: Strong Controls Engineering skills 7+ years relevant experience in industry Solid knowledge of Ignition SCADA systems - including design, configuration, scripting, and module development Solid knowledge of PLC control systems, PAC Control experience an advantage Experience designing HMI interfaces for intuitive system control and monitoring Some knowledge of AI or ML techniques would be an advantage. Strong experience in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel Experience with Computer-Aided Design software, AutoCAD preferred Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills. Valid Full Drivers License (preferable, not mandatory) Requirements: Bachelors (Level 8) Degree in Controls Engineering or related discipline Other Attributes: Ability to work as part of a team and to manage workload and prioritise. Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills. Proven self-starter and self-motivated.
