Job Description: Our client, a reputable organisation in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Cost Accountant to assist with managing and improving their management accounting functions. This permanent role will involve overseeing standard costing models and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and issue performance reports including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts. Manage product standard costs using Activity-Based Costing (ABC) systems to provide detailed analysis of contribution margins. Oversee and analyse variances related to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), including material usage, purchase price, and overhead absorption variances. Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and work with external auditors as needed. Provide management with accurate cost and pricing information to support decision-making on commercial products and services. Continuously review administrative systems to improve productivity and ensure compliance with financial standards. Collaborate with group finance teams and support the rollout of new IT tools within the department. Deputise for the Senior Manager Finance when necessary. Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience as a Management Accountant. Applied management accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. Expertise in variance analysis and management of Cost of Goods Sold (CoGs). Strong knowledge of Activity-Based Costing and standard costing principles. Proven ability to manage month-end close processes. Desirable Skills: Strong business acumen, with skills in report writing and presentations. Experience with project management and working with international teams. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
