Job Description
Cost Management Accountant role at Aviva Life and Pensions Ireland involves managing cost accounting processes, providing financial analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making.
As a key member of the Financial Performance team, you will report to the Head of Performance and work closely with the wider business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of Performance in producing and presenting cost plans
- Generating regular reports and offering insights on cost variances, trends, and key performance indicators
- Working with finance teams and the wider business to develop financial forecasts, business plans, and budgets
- Monitoring and controlling expenses, analysing trends, and recommending actions
- Performing expense checking and carrying out valuations on larger projects
- Leading reviews of Service Level Agreements to improve cost efficiency
- Conducting thorough analysis of cost structures and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation
- Collaborating with the wider ALPI business areas to enhance processes and overall efficiency
- Promoting a robust risk and control environment
Key skills and experience required for this role include:
- Professional accounting qualification
- Experience working in a similar role in the life insurance industry
- Advanced analytical and computer skills, particularly Excel and Power Point
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently
- Experience in meeting deadlines, coordinating activities, and escalating risks and issues
