Lead Estimator for Civil Structural and Architectural Projects

As a Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed estimates from start to finish, working closely with the pre-construction team. You will engage with the supply chain to obtain sub-contractor quotes and current market rates for incorporation into each tender.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the bid process, taking ownership of the project and completing the estimate from start to finish for presentation to the Group CSA Estimation Manager.
- Scope identification: prepare the project overview, identifying the scope required and the tender returns required, and analyse drawings, specifications, and tender addenda to ascertain the work elements to be measured and priced.
- Quantification of work: be competent in Cost X estimation work practices for both 2D and 5D applications, and liaise with design team members to obtain necessary information.
- Pricing: obtain quotations from the local market, interrogate these quotations for scope gaps and variances, and input correct figures into the out mid-bid meetings with supply chain.
- Change Management: keep up to date with all tender addenda issued, analyse all for change, schedule these changes, and apply rates for updated/revised tender bid submissions.
- Time Management: demonstrate excellent time management of your time to achieve tight deadlines, preparing BQ's, and use approximate quantities and composite rates where necessary.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
- 7+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying/Estimating role.
- Data centre CSA commercial experience required.
- Proven track record tendering on projects over €40-50+m.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of competency in BQ preparation and pricing.
This role would suit an ambitious Estimator seeking to progress their career, or a QS looking to broaden their experience in a large pre-construction team from either a PQS or Contractor background.
