Job Description

This prestigious client is a leading provider of comprehensive data centre solutions headquartered in Dublin and operating across Europe. They specialise in delivering end-to-end services, from initial design through to construction, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning work. The Estimating Department, which falls under the leadership of the Estimation & Proposals Lead, is structured into three core areas: Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA); Mechanical; and Electrical. This role will be for the CSA Team and will be based at their Ballymount office in Dublin. Position Reporting To Estimation & Proposals Lead Key Responsibilities Prepare cost estimates and pre-construction budgets using project drawings and specifications Manage quantity assessments and compile pricing documentation Source pricing for various building elements from suppliers and subcontractors across Ireland and Europe Use spreadsheets to analyze subcontractor bids, providing justification for selection Assist in maintaining the cost database and tracking regional metrics Present estimates to the CSA Estimating Lead and, when necessary, to the Board of Directors Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers Stay updated with industry trends and developments Participate in refining procedures to ensure high-quality documentation from the Pre-Construction, Estimating, and Proposals Departments Comply with quality assurance standards Engage in personal development and performance evaluations Handle additional tasks assigned by Winthrop management Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information, especially client-provided data Understand the importance of high-quality tender documentation and the companys tender submission process Be aware of and adhere to the companys high safety standards Identify potential project risks Qualifications and Experience Required A background in Quantity Surveying or Estimating with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience Pre-construction experience is preferred Degree-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and at least one industry-standard software (e.g., Buildsoft or CostX) Valid Safe Pass card Full Irish Driving Licence Skills: csa Quantity Surveying Cost Control Cost Management Costing Tender Risk Management
