CT Clinical Specialist Radiographer

A highly skilled CT Clinical Specialist Radiographer is sought to lead the CT imaging services in a well-established hospital in Kilkenny, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging.

About the Role

  • Lead the CT imaging services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Establish and maintain the highest standards of service, including customer service and technical aspects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, protocols, and guidelines to ensure optimum utilisation of resources and systematic audit of such usage.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake primary responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the CT Service and the effective utilisation of all resources allocated.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including the customer service and technical aspects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of plans for service monitor and report on their implementation.
  • Ensure that the Radiography Service Manager is provided with accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction, downtime, and performance as required.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of CT technology and imaging techniques.
  • Strong clinical and technical skills in performing and interpreting CT scans.
  • Proven experience leading, guiding, and supervising Radiographic staff in the CT department and successfully managing service delivery on a day-to-day basis.
  • Proficient in operating CT imaging equipment and software.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or Bachelor of Science or its equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • CORU registration IV Cannulation.
  • Minimum of 6 years post-graduate experience in Radiography.
  • Postgraduate qualification in CT (desirable).
