Job Description

A highly skilled CT Clinical Specialist Radiographer is sought to lead the CT imaging services at a well-established hospital in Kilkenny. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of CT technology and imaging techniques, with strong clinical and technical skills in performing and interpreting CT scans.

The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities will include leading the CT service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging, and contributing to the development and implementation of operational policies and guidelines.

  • Undertake primary responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the CT Service and the effective utilisation of all resources allocated.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including the customer service and technical aspects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, protocols and guidelines.
  • Support the Radiography Service Manager in the implementation of initiatives aimed at ongoing service development and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a training function as may be required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Advanced knowledge of CT technology and imaging techniques.
  • Strong clinical and technical skills in performing and interpreting CT scans.
  • Proven experience leading, guiding and supervising Radiographic staff in the CT department.
  • Proficient in operating CT imaging equipment and software.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or equivalent qualification.
  • CORU registration.
  • Minimum 6 years post graduate experience in Radiography.
  • Postgraduate qualification in CT (desirable).
