Job Description

Are you an experienced customs professional based in North Dublin looking for a new role within a large and fast growing freight forwarder ? If so, then this role with one of my key clients could be just the role for you.


As Customs Broker you will be responsible for accurately and promptly submitting customs entries for clearance, as outlined by company procedures.

The successful candidate in this role will act as a knowledgeable advocate for customers, delivering exceptional service through their expertise, accountability, and sense of urgency.

This role involves deepening understanding of regulatory requirements, enhancing customer service skills, utilizing reporting tools, and gaining a comprehensive grasp of the supply chain process.

The individual will ensure compliance and operational excellence, representing both the company and its customers, while developing skills and expertise for further growth within the organization.


This is a full time, permanent position and is operates on a hybrid working policy upon successful completion of probation.


Key Responsibilites:

  • Demonstrate mastery with respect to the customs brokerage products' standard operating procedures (SOP) and best practices
  • Analyze and validate import documentation and data to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations prior to entry submission
  • Receive and review documentation to input and transmit data
  • Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation exists for all shipments
  • Manage customer invoicing, process vendor payables, and assist with receivables of assigned accounts
  • Procure and coordinate cargo dispatch with preferred carriers, obtaining delivery confirmation, and finalizing rates and any assessorial charges
  • Identify and resolve issues that could potentially result in delayed cargo release or final delivery
  • Demonstrate strong decisionmaking skills and ability to prioritize tasks between daily responsibilities
  • Gain awareness into customer specific standard operating procedures (SOP) and honor those commitments
  • Adhere to a high level of operational excellence with respect to on time performance, accuracy, and customer service
  • Collaborate with support staff and modal departments to ensure import data integrity and compliance with customer SOP
  • Complete Customs tariff classification and valuation

Key Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and relevant Customs Brokerage license
  • Minimum 2 years of Customs Brokerage experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
