Data Analyst Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled data analyst to join our editorial team in Dublin, Ireland, to develop and maintain leading-edge analytics systems and provide data-driven insights to inform editorial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced analytics systems to drive editorial decision-making.
- Analyse complex data problems and create simple frameworks to understand them.
- Provide daily and weekly analytics to inform key staff members about audience engagement and growth opportunities.
- Work closely with news editors and reporters to understand and meet their analytics needs.
- Proactively analyse data to answer key questions about content and business performance.
- Investigate and communicate areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics.
- Three or more years' experience in data analysis.
- Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualisation.
- Strong SQL or Excel skills, with ability to learn other analytics tools.
- Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
- Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages.
- Digital native with interest in learning and development.
- Great critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task effectively.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and take responsibility for work.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Flexible attitude and approach to tasks.
- Pleasant interpersonal and excellent English communication skills.
