Job Description

A exciting opportunity has arisen within the Blackrock Health at Galway Clinic, for the position of Data Analyst / Report Writer. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is a permanent post, 37 hours per week. This is a hybrid position. Role Summary: We are looking for a new data Analyst/report writer to complement its IT Department. The Galway Clinic has the most advanced Electronic Medical Record in Ireland with a very data rich environment. The organization is comprised of over 50 different departments with different systems and business needs. It makes it a vast and complex infrastructure in term of processes and data. The role is focused on developing reports for the business and providing the organization with critical data needed to support the business both clinically and financially. This role requires excellent communication skills to deal directly with departments and gather their business needs to transform them into technical requirements. The candidate will have to become familiar with the organizational workflows to be able to familiarize themselves with data source and locations. Main Duties and Responsibilities Understand business processes and financial / clinical and administrative information requirements of all stakeholders Collaborate with medical and hospital staff leaders to determine new needs for information and information management Participate in business and clinical projects and provide development assistance to project teams. Meet with departments to scope report request projects as needed Create reports as requested Create Dashboards as needed Assist colleagues in getting meaningful data out of the Meditech to support the services of business. Identify and implement solutions in cooperation with other IT Team members Provide clear and thorough documentation of, but not restricted to, change control, testing and development notes. Effectively communicate with IT management relating to issues and concerns related to day-to-day operations. The role holder will perform other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned to him/her from time to time by their line manager. The candidate Skills and competencies We are looking for an experienced candidate with a good analytical mind that can hit the ground running and demonstrates an eagerness to acquire any additional knowledge needed for this role. The candidate will be expected to quickly develop strong working relationships with key personnel.
